FIELD: gas purification. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns cleaning gas by microbiological methods and may be used in wood-working, chemical, and other industries. Method consists in filtration of gas-air mixture through biologically active layers containing microorganisms, which are spaced in vertical direction and are made from material with the same porosity. Irrigation liquid for maintaining living activity of microorganisms is fed separately on each layer with controlled intake. Before the beginning of gas-air mixture filtration at starting temperature 45 C, through irrigation liquid at starting temperature 45 C, steam stream with controlled intake is passed. EFFECT: optimized conditions of operation. 5 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
