FIELD: research of cutting process by cutting tools at any value of cutting plate sharpening geometry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has housing, cutter holder formed as pivotal four-link member for holding cutting plate with cutting pin and clamp, and chip cutting device. Mechanism for fixing angular position of cutter holder is made in the form of slide block with opening for pin to be cut. Slide block is mounted in housing slot made in the form of arc of circle with center on cutter holder axis of rotation. Apparatus has set of regulating plates positioned below cutting plate and adapted to provide for forming of chip root at value of front clearance angle without resharpening of cutting plate. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 dwg
