FIELD: arc welding, applicable in industry when seam welding in different welding positions is used. SUBSTANCE: an external longitudinal commercial-frequency (50 Hz) magnetic field is laid on the arc and welding bath metal melt. To generate the magnetic field, use is made of s simple, reliable in operation and inexpensive equipment. Are welding is conducted by direct current of any polarity. The value of induction of an alternating electromagnetic field of commercial frequency is determined from expression: Lo-L B= ----------- K , where Lo and L - lengths of welding bath metal melt without magnetic field and at welding in a magnetic field; K - proportionality factor. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 3 tbl
