FIELD: inorganic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: proposed method may be applied for plants of low productivity (about 2 t/h) at pressure of air separated after compressor of 0.1-1 MPa. At isothermic efficiency of compressor of 0.65 and adiabatic efficiency of expansion machine of 0.8, power requirement of compressor may be reduced to 0.85 kW-h/kg per kg of liquid nitrogen. To this end, bottoms vapors are heated to temperature higher than temperature of beginning of expansion of air; vapors are expanded and are directed for cooling.
