SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by copolymerization of vinyl acetate with glycidyl ether in methane by initiating azobisisobutyric acid followed by alkaline alcoholysis in the presence of NaOH, squeezing the suspension and drying the product, 99.5-98 wt parts of vinyl acetate 0.5-2 wt parts of ethylene glycol glycidyl ether and 0.5-2 wt parts of urea are polymerized in the presence of methanol of asobisisobutyric acid dinitrile. The final polymer solution is diluted with methanol and saponified in the presence of NaOH. Vinyl alcohol suspension is neutralized with acetic acid.
