FIELD: veneer production. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has hollow hermetical plates with vacuum grips. Each vacuum grip has body with projections on its surface, collar not supported by plate, flexible flap with circumferential openings, diffuser with central opening and netted filter. Vacuum grips are fixed on hollow plates positioned on machine bench between slots adapted for securing wainscots by crooks. Plates are connected with vacuumizer via air distributor and collector and are provided with detachable metal covers. Such construction allows output of sliced veneer to be increased by 5-10%. Wainscot cuttings may be planed to 5-mm thickness as compared to known construction allowing wainscot cuttings to be planed to 25-50-mm thickness. EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced labour intensity for storage and transportation, sawing and wainscot debarking works. 3 cl, 4 dwg
