FIELD: infra-red imagers. SUBSTANCE: N-channel optical system uses two confocal objectives having different diameters. The objective of larger diameter is a lens objective. A variable aperture diaphragm is positioned before the objective of larger diameter. A photodetector with sensing elements of different dimensions is installed in the plane of image. The sensing element of larger dimensions may be made of sensing elements of smaller dimensions having a common signal output. The system may be furnished with two similar objectives, a plane mirror is installed before each pair of objectives obliquely to their optical axis, the planes of image of all objectives are matched, and a two-sided photodetector is installed. EFFECT: enhanced quality. 7 cl, 5 dwg
