METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF MAMMARY GLAND CANCER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: oncology. SUBSTANCE: incision is practised on patient's skin, followed by dissecting and separating skin of affected mammary gland, by sectoral resection of mammary gland tissue, and by suturing together mammary gland tissue and skin. Next submuscular lymphoidectomy on side of tumor is practised. Incision on skin is practised circularly along edge of areola so that incision extends downwards along submammary fold and, further onwards, in form of letter "W" along anterior surface of gland. Side apices of "W" correspond to upper endings of incision along submammary fold, while median apex of incision is practised above upper edge of areola at distance which is predetermined by point of anticipated shift of mamillary-areolary complex. Skin is dissected on lower portion of mammary gland within limits of skin incision, excepting areola. After sectoral resection of gland tissue, gland base is mobilized. Once operation of sick gland is over, identical operation of same volume is practised on healthy mammary gland. EFFECT: useful invention for oncologists. 11 dwg
