FIELD: working of articles of art made from wood. SUBSTANCE: method involves working article surface with shaft provided with cutters fixed on it and rotating about its own axis. Shaft is moved in accordance with predetermined program in vertical plane perpendicular to surface under working process. Axis of shaft is oriented is parallel with surface to be worked. Shaft is displaced in vertical plane so that its axis is in parallel with itself. Article is continuously pulled below rotating shaft in synchronism with displacement of shaft in vertical plane. EFFECT: increased efficiency by continuous process and provision for obtaining various relief patterns. 2 dwg
