FIELD: graviprospecting. SUBSTANCE: method includes the following operations. Gravity is measured, fields of full normalized gradient are transformed, and coordinates (x, z) of anomaly sources in opencast are obtained. Observation network parameters are set up, optimal parameters of field transformations of full normalized gradient are determined. Then transformation of selected- type fields with parameters close to optimal ones is carried out, axes of phase coincidence of abnormal zones are identified, character of anomaly sources and coordinates of anomalies are determined. As a result, diagram of location of dense opencast nonuniformities (subhorizontal boundaries of interface, subvertical contacts) is drawn up without using the geological and geophysical information.
