FIELD: treatment of liquid with the help of solid loose material, mainly, by counterflow method. SUBSTANCE: moving-bed reactor has at least two reaction chambers located one above the other. Each chamber is provided with inlets and outlets of loose material and fluid medium, distributing bottom plate and accumulating bottom plate for distribution of fluid medium over cross-section of reaction chamber and discharging bottom plate for passing loose material downward, and also has device for supply and discharge of at least one loose material and one liquid medium to and from the reaction chambers, pipes or shafts located under respective bottom plate whose lower ends, at least, several of them extend to under underlying reaction chamber with the help of device for discharge of loose material. The method consists in that loose materials from reaction chambers located above each other are discharged under the lowest accumulating bottom plate or from various accumulating bottom plates separately from one another.
