FIELD: organic chemistry; production of slow-acting fertilizers based on urea and formaldehyde. SUBSTANCE: inventive novelty of proposed method resides in fact that urea and formaldehyde are subjected to condensation in presence of potassic alkali and acid catalyst in isopropyl alcohol reaction medium, alcohol being taken in amount 7-9 parts by volume per 1 part by weight of formaldehyde taken in form of urea-formaldehyde solution. Product thus-obtained is finally dried. EFFECT: new approach to production of urea-formaldehyde fertilizers. 2 cl, 1 tbl
