FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: cellulose esters were synthesized by activation of cellulose with acetic acid at modulus 0.1-3.5 followed by treatment of the activated cellulose at modulus 3-7 with acylating mixtures containing acetic, propionic or butyric acid anhydride and adduct of sulfuric acid or its mixture with perchloric acid with N,N-dimethylacetamide formed from: 0.67-0.97 mole N,N-dimethylacetamide and 1 mole sulfuric acid at amount corresponding to 1.5-7% sulfuric acid of cellulose mass, or 1.1-1.2 mole N,N-dimethylacetamide and 1 mole sulfuric acid at amount corresponding to 7-20% sulfuric acid of cellulose mass, or a mixture of 2.1 mole N,N-dimethylacetamide and 1 mole sulfuric acid and 1 mole perchloric acid at amount corresponding to 10-20% sulfuric acid and 5-10% perchloric acid of cellulose mass. Hydrolysis is carried out at modulus 2.4-5.0 for two stages at water concentration in solution 4-5% and 14-15%. Product is used in textile industry, for making films, varnish, plastics and other materials. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 3 cl
