THIGH-OVERLAYING ORTHOPEDIC CORSET FOR FIXING TO IT HIP PROSTHESIS BY LACING AND ITS FRAMING IN UPPER PORTION WITH POROLON Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: prosthetics; prosthesis engineering. SUBSTANCE: orthopedic corset comprises leather waist-belt provided with small straps, buckles and bolts, shoulder-slung rubberized belt, one end of which has opening for bolt, while its other end carries small strap for fastening to buckle secured by bolt to prosthesis sleeve. Rear portion of prosthesis sleeve has leather half-ring with opening for passage of laces which are made in the form of rubber braids. Corset is provided with ventilation vents and is made of non-extensible material. On one side, corset comprises vertical lacing intended to ensure and to adjust its definitive close fitting around patient's thighs, while on its other side corset carries dismountable lock-clasp sewn to it. Upper portion of prosthesis sleeve and its axial end are framed by some resilient material, such as porolon, to protect stump against rubbing. EFFECT: improved convenience and aesthetic design. 4 dwg
