FIELD: granulators of melts, for instance, of sulfur. SUBSTANCE: method of cleaning of foul air of melts loaded onto cooling surfaces, in particular, on the belt cooler, and solidifying there consists in maintaining the difference between the melt vapor pressure after loading onto cooling surfaces and the pressure of saturation in space through which the solidifying melt is passing as low as possible. The pressure of saturation in space through which the melt is passing is set equal to the product active pressure as close as possible. The device for realization of the method has a loader for the melt and a belt cooler circulating under it. The loader and belt cooler are closed with a cap furnished with heaters. The heaters are made for control in such a manner that the temperature in the space under the cap may vary in the direction of motion of the belt cooler. The cap is installed as close as possible to the belt cooler. Packing facilities are provided at the inlet and outlet between the belt cooler and cap. The cap consists of a two-walled steel plate with heating elements installed in it. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 7 cl, 2 dwg
