FIELD: mechanical removal of burns on tooth edges of gear wheels. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in clamping in interference fit of a needle mill the gear wheel tooth surfaces to be trimmed with nap and made of steel spring wire. In the zone of machining the axis of rotation of the cylindrical needle mill is positioned at an angle of 40 to 50 deg. to the axis of symmetry of the gear wheel. The gear wheel rotates at the circular feed rate in the opposite direction of needle mill rotation. Use is made of a needle mill, whose working surface is made in the form of prongs (teeth) of a triangular profile and has a width equal to or exceeding the pitch of the gear wheel teeth to be trimmed. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 2 dwg
