FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: method consists of cyclically charging silica or alumina mineral raw material into ball mill, wet disintegration in alkali medium at temperature above 400 C, discharge after disintegrating a part of suspension, and repeating the cycle. After each cycle, raw material is additionally charged in amount corresponding to that of discharged material. Novelty consists in that, (i) during charging components before their disintegration, water in amount 18-30% based on weight mixture under treatment is added, (ii) during wet disintegration, excess water is removed to moisture content 12-16 wt %, and (iii) cycle is terminated by discharge of 40-90 wt % of suspension. Rattler involved comprises disintegration chamber, hollow charge and discharge spindles, perforated barrier in discharge section of disintegration chamber, and lifters. Distinguishing feature of rattler is its providing with milling bodies placed in disintegration chamber and charge device made in the form of housing embracing charge spindle and ladles attached to housing and apt to receive material directed by guide trays. Lifters are mounted on discharge perforated barrier, and discharge port is closed by valve located over receiving tray. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 3 cl, 4 dwg, 2 tbl
