FIELD: chemical power sources. SUBSTANCE: electrolyte contains alkali metal chloride and hydroxide solution with corrosion inhibiting additive. According to invention, this additive is alkali metal stannate and, as alkali metal, sodium is used, contents of components being the following (in wt %): sodium chloride, 5-30; sodium hydroxide, 0.5-25; sodium stannate, at least 0.2; and water, the balance. To enhance gelation suppression effect, electrolyte may be supplemented by less than 0.01 wt % of sodium carbonate, bicarbonate, and sulfate or by 0.001 to 1.0 wt % of organic flocculant based on polyacrylic compounds.
