FIELD: poultry farming. SUBSTANCE: incubator has housing with vent openings, heater, moistener, incubation mode control unit, egg tray with egg turning mechanism. Tray formed as rigid plate arranged in horizontal position and provided with egg receiving openings and vent openings divides incubating chamber volume into two zones, with heater or heating members being positioned in one zone and embedded into tray body. Vent openings of tray have controllable section area. Egg turning mechanism is positioned in lower zone of incubating chamber and is made in the form of rigid plate mounted in horizontal position and provided with pins rigidly attached to its side edges. Pins are inserted into guides providing reciprocation of rigid plate at two levels relative to egg tray. Each guide has horizontal and inclined platforms at its lower level and horizontal platform and horizontal screen at its upper level. Screen is mounted for rotation about axis perpendicular to plane of guides and rests with its free end upon upper horizontal platform. Moistener is formed as flexible hygroscopic gasket disposed on upper surface of plate of egg turning mechanism and connected via channels with water vessel by means of control unit.
