FIELD: agriculture and food-processing industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has cylindrical metal drum with perforated side wall, perforated rubberized panels disposed adjacent to inner surface of drum side wall and provided with low projections, device for conveying beets from charge side to discharge side, device for spraying water under pressure onto beets and drum rotation drive. Projections may be defined by longitudinal planks. Each panel has metal frame and rubber grid secured to frame. Panels are attached to drum wall by fastening clips. Panels are disposed on inner side of drum in spaced relation one with respect to another. Drum drive has rotational speed variator. Such construction allows beet to be conveyed in single-layer flow.
