FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: deep purification of organic compounds, more particularly removal of alkyl halide from alkyl compounds of Group II- VI intransition element by rectification. The claimed method is carried out by continuously treating alkyl compound as the latter is rectified with metallic magnesium. Rectification column intended for removing alkyl halide from said alkyl compounds comprises still, rectifying section, capacitor head and includes additional section filled with metallic magnesium packing which irreversibly binds alkyl halide impurity to form non-volatile alkyl magnesium halide.
