FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, devices used in sugar beet harvesting machines. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has shaft 1 with disk 2 and top removing members 4 attached to lower part of disk 2 by means of attachment units 3. Top removing members 3 are made U-shaped and arranged circumferentially of disk 2 with radius part extending outside and in alternating groups. One groups of top removing members 3 are formed from single members 4 disposed along radius of disk 2 and other groups are formed from pairs of members 4 extending perpendicular to radius of disk 2. EFFECT: increased efficiency in removing tops from standing root plants and simplified construction. 4 cl, 6 dwg
