FIELD: explosives. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to explosives with low impact energy for use when performing blast breakage of rock and minerals and to methods of developing deposits using such explosives. in particular, invention focuses on manufacturing and using chemically-modified explosives based on ammonium nitrate and liquid fuel, modification being largely performed by introducing less reactive solid fuel to delay time needed to release maximum energy of explosive. Composition contains oxidant such as ammonium nitrate and fuel, which may include liquid fuel and which also includes solid fuel such as rubber particles, balls and flocks of polystyrene. Solid fuel controls energy release after detonation of composition. When a part or all liquid fuel is replaced by less reactive solid fuel, the time during which pressure caused by detonation increases was found to become longer. EFFECT: reduced impact energy and increased shear energy.
