LOG PACKAGER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: rafting of wood. SUBSTANCE: log packager has pontoon consisting of two bodies 2 and 3 with forming cradle installed in between for turning in vertical plane. Cradle is made in of open outline frame 6 with vertical wall in nose portion to lining up end faces of logs in package. Packager has also log package binding and tying device with tie-up cable 9 in plane perpendicular to diametral plane of pontoon, and fastening clamps. Winch 8 is installed on axle 4. Cable-and-sheave system includes flexible pulling member 11 coupled with winch 8 and frame 6. Flexible pulling member 11 encloses frame 6 from below in diametral plane of pontoon.
