FIELD: antenna instruments. SUBSTANCE: method involves detection of phase distribution in phase antenna array channels in order to orient its beam pattern towards target, synchronous alternation of phase of transmitted signals by same level which is equal to sample of each phase shifter in gaps between cycles of target bearing, measuring signal power at output of phased antenna array, when power level corresponds to direction to target. Phased antenna array order is judged by comparison of measurements in different cycles. EFFECT: increased reliability of testing, increased precision of target bearing by averaging measurement results. 3 dwg
