SUBSTANCE: cooled brace-suspended crown of open-hearth furnace includes refractory bricks secured to supporting square-cross section tubes provided with water- or evaporation-type cooling system. Bricks are secured to supporting tubes by means of steel plates and pins. Cooled tubes are mutually spaced by 225-300 mm. From above bricks are covered by refractory mass layer whose thickness consists 0.8-1.2 of length of rib of cooled supporting tube. EFFECT: improved design. 4 dwg
