FIELD: timber industry. SUBSTANCE: saw chain has right-hand and left-hand cutter blocks 1, axles 5 and middle links 4 and side Connecting and cutting links 3 with shanks. Side links have L-shaped right-hand or left-hand teeth 9 and chip thickness limiters at side opposite to shanks. Each L-shaped tooth at side pointed to longitudinally vertical symmetry plane passing through middle links of chain forms open space in which contour lines at conjugation of inner and outer surfaces of shank are of double curvature type. Concavity of curvature in zone of contour of tooth space is adjacent to concavity of contour line at conjugation on inner surfaces of rear faces. Length of section of surface of side rear face between adjacent concavities is equal to 2.5-8 mm, and size of acute angle between indicated sections of surface of side rear face and longitudinal vertical plane of symmetry of chain is 2-10 degrees. Chosen shape of surface of conjugation between inner and outer surface of side rear of cutting tooth and shank with preset geometric relationships provides longer service life of saw chain at its realization in compliance with said design. EFFECT: increased service life, decreased efforts which cause moving chain off the guide members of saw mechanism, increased stability of chain and enhanced quality of cut. 3 cl, 1 tbl, 7 dwg
