FIELD: automatic load disconnection in preset time interval after its connection by means of start button. SUBSTANCE: switch has first power bus of switching member whose control inputs are electrically isolated from its power inputs, power supply, load terminals, second power bus, time-setting unit, double-input OR gate, and start button; according to invention, first power bus, power inputs of switching member, power supply, load terminals, load, and second power bus are connected in series and start button connects second power bus to first input of double-input OR gate whose outputs are connected to control inputs of switching member. Time-setting unit is connected to power supply and to second input of OR gate. Electromagnetic relay, optocoupler, or their combination, or combination with other switching member, thyristor, transistor, and the like may be used as switching members which makes it possible to use device both in ac and DC circuits. Circuit arrangement of switch may be slightly modified; so, it may be loaded by control inputs of other switching member electrically isolated from its power inputs. This enables across-the-line connection of load or device application for handling high-power loads. EFFECT: simplified design, enlarged functional capabilities. 2 cl, 3 dwg
