FIELD: various industries involving preparation of compressed and liquefied gases and filling of bottles from delivery manifolds. SUBSTANCE: method consists in creation of safe situation in filling the bottles with compressed gases after disconnecting them from coils of delivery manifold, prevention of escape of gas from bottles having defective valves through fitting back-up shut-off devices. Back-up shut-off device consists of coupling unit for connecting the gas bottles to delivery manifold and bottle valve which are interconnected by means of pipe union and union nuts. Construction of coupling unit makes it possible to connect back-up shut-off device to defective valve of bottle for a short period of time (3 to 5 s), thus preventing compressed gas from escaping from bottle.
