FIELD: electrophysical measurements, specifically, measurement of density of conduction current or intensity of electric field, oceanology, geophysical studies, electric prospecting. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention consists in minimization of distortions introduced by sensor to examined electric field. This result is achieved by selection of form of dielectric case which guides coincide with lines of force of field and which electrodes measuring difference of potentials are installed perpendicular to axis of case, coincide with equipotential surfaces and are interconnected through turn of current transformer. Case can be manufactured in the form of hollow cylinder, electrodes are located inside case and communicate with environment with the aid of hydraulic channels having shape of truncated cones. Case can be fabricated in the form of hollow sealed cube and fitted with dielectric screens forming hydraulic channels in the form of truncated tetrahedral pyramids.
