FIELD: steelmaking. SUBSTANCE: steel is composed, wt %: carbon, 0.05-0.10; silicon, 0.3-0.60; manganese, 0.2-0.70; chromium, 15.0-16.5; nickel, 3.5-4.5; niobium, 0.2-0.4; copper, 0.01-0.2; aluminum, 0.01-0.08; nitrogen, 0.005-0.05; cerium, 0.002-0.05; calcium, 0.001-0.005; sulfur, 0.002-0.020; phosphorus, 0.002-0.025; and iron, the balance. Summary amount of carbon and nitrogen does not exceed 0.12%; that of sulfur and phosphorus 0.04%; and that of nickel, manganese, and copper 5.2%. Steel is appropriate for use in ship and nuclear power mechanical engineering. EFFECT: improved complex of basic physico-mechanical and operational characteristics resulting in process reliability and safety. 2 tbl
