FIELD: electroplating. SUBSTANCE: invention is related with electroplating coatings from tin and its alloys and may find use in manufacture of multilayer plates in electronic and radio engineering. Preparation of additive includes adding amine to unsaturated aldehyde, in particular, cinnamic aldehyde, preliminarily mixed with ethanol at ethanol/aldehyde/amine volume ratio from 7:1:0.005 to 7:1:0.1. Amine is based on ethylene polymer and has general formula H2N(CH2CH2NH2)n where n=1-5. Resultant solution is exposed to light for 12-16 days. EFFECT: reduced toxicity of electrolyte. 1 tbl
