FIELD: medicine, chemical-pharmaceutical industry. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a drug showing antitussive effect that has opium alkaloid and Thermopsis lanceolata herb alkaloids. Codeine is used as an opium alkaloid. Sum of Thermopsis alkaloids, among them, thermopsin in the form of Thermopsis herb powder at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: for oral administration as a tablet: Thermopsis herb powder, 3.412-4.280; codeine, 1.524-1.544; sodium hydrocarbonate, 36.230-40.691; licorice root powder, 36.230-40.691; starch, 13.846-15.538; and talc, 2.800-3.200. Method of preparing involves raw preparing, preparing mass for tabletting, wet granulation, drying, tabletting. Mass for tabletting is carried out by successive mixing starch (powder), sodium hydrocarbonate, licorice root (powder), Thermopsis herb (powder) and talc followed by addition of dissolved codeine. Mass is wetted with this solution at temperature 40-60 C. Solution is prepared as 3-7% filling on the basis of codeine and starch solution. An agent has decreased level of narcotic substances.
