FIELD: transport engineering; car tools and appliances. SUBSTANCE: jack has four-member mechanism, two adjacent members 1 and 2 of which are provided with brackets 3, 4 on ends of which base 5 and cover plate 6 are mounted. Base and cover plate are used to thrust against car bottom and ground. By changing the length of members of four-member mechanism and lengths of brackets, definite angle of inclination of screw relative to ground is set at initial moment of car lifting from minimum heights at which handle 14 does not come in contact with ground. Use of sectional nut 7 consisting of bushing with thread press-fitted into-bearing housing of nut to make the housing operate in compression permits use of special alloy featuring minimum coefficient of friction in presence of lubricant, as compared with all known antifriction materials. Effort to be applied to jack handle at lifting 800-1000 kg is 5-6 kgf instead of 10-13 kgf in jacks of other known models. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation, possibility of lifting car applying smaller force to jack handle. 4 dwg
