COMPOUND FOR ISOLATION OF WATER-BEARING BEDS Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: this is used for isolating or limiting water inflow to wells and saturation zones both in terrigenous and carbonate reservoirs and also for levelling profile of injectivity in injection wells. Isolating compound has following components: water-soluble polymer of acrylic line, sodium silicate, regulator of gel-formation, filler, and water. Filler component contains granules of pressed wood material such as wood flour or sawdust. Diameter of granules in filler component is 0.1-3.0 mm. Pressing of granules is effected at temperature of 375-378 K. Prior to pressing of granules, wood material is subjected to thermal treatment in fluidized bed under same temperature during 1-3 h. Application of aforesaid compound improves efficiency in isolation of water inflow to wells. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 cl, 3 tbl
