FIELD: detection and conversion of X-rays into electric signal for science, medicine and industry. SUBSTANCE: device has microchannel plate, which serves as simultaneously as amplifier and transducer, which information is read by electron beam which scans over plate surface and converts information into rectangular raster. Input window is transparent for X-rays. Collector of secondary electrons is located between input window and microchannel plate. Electron projector which forms electron reading beam is located on side of plate which is opposite to input of X-ray image. Corresponding method involves detection of this image and its reading both in continuous mode and in single pulse mode. Amplification direction in microchannel plate coincides with direction of reading beam entering plate. EFFECT: possibility of continuous and pulse reading, simplified design. 9 cl, 7 dwg
