FIELD: manufacture of metallic strips from slit tubes. SUBSTANCE: twinned metallic blanks are fed to two grooves arranged along circle on surface of rotating wheel and they are moved towards die having opening with gap along circle of cross section. Metal is poured in die opening; in output it appears as slit tube. Tube moves over shaping member to be shaped to flat strip. At process of tube motion over shaping member centering system keeps centered position of tube. Centering system includes light source arranged inside tube and two arrays of phototransistors for receiving light of light source. Light quantity received by each array is function of real position of tube slit relative to its necessary position. Any deviation causes rotation of control roller engaging with outer surface of tube in direction that provides back rotation of tube to centered position. EFFECT: stable centering of tube at displacing its slit from predetermined position without interrupting extrusion process. 31 cl, 25 dwg
