FIELD: writing appliances. SUBSTANCE: modular mechanism is made in the form of single unit for locating it inside mechanical lead pencil. At its front end, pencil has removable head-piece. Modular mechanism for application of leads of required size is inserted into sleeve body of pencil through hole which is created after removal of head-piece. Multiplicity of mechanisms can be provided for user to adapt pencil for required size of lead.
