FIELD: equipment for TV sets. SUBSTANCE: method involves encoding of TV signal with acoustic start-stop signal in audible band at transmission party, its transmission to receiving party, decoding of start-stop signal and generation of signal for control of reproduction of audio and video signals by TV set. Start-stop signal is designed as harmonic signal with at least one frequency which differs from frequencies, corresponding to acoustic band of signals with unwanted information. Corresponding device has receiving circuit, which audio part has commutator and decoder, and video part has additional commutator. Decoder is designed as serial circuit of band-pass narrow-band filter, detector and threshold gate, which output serves as output of decoder. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 12 cl, 3 dwg
