FIELD: vibration testing. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to test articles for random unidimensional vibration to reduce level of power of parasitic lateral vibration while level of power is specified in vertical direction. Method of control over spectrum of excited random unidimensional vibration consists in taking of amplitude-frequency characteristics of vibration path along three orthogonal directions from input of vibration exciter to check point in advance, in division of each frequency band into M frequency subbands of same width, in computation of average values of amplitude-frequency characteristics of vibration path along each of three orthogonal directions, in computation of levels of spectrum of exciting signal by formula. Vibration in tested article is caused with the use of obtained spectrum. Common level of dispersion of vertical vibration in each frequency band is sustained in accordance with specified vector of dispersions with maintenance of interrelation of computed multiplication factors invariable. EFFECT: provision for reduced level of parasitic lateral vibration with preservation of specified level of vertical vibration of tested article. 3 dwg
