FIELD: drilling machinery and equipment. SUBSTANCE: diamond bit relates to rock-crushing tools and is used for drilling oil and gas wells. Drilling bit has body with washing passages, and working head. Installed in working head are rock-crushing members in the form of diamond-hard-alloy strips with negative angle of installing. Strips are secured in holders. Angle of installing α is varied in modulus at changing of distance from axis of bit to point of cutting strip lying on generant of working head surface so that on periphery, angle of installing is equal to installing angles having actual values depending on hardness of rock being drilled. Angle of installing as it gets closer to drilling bit axis is increasing in modulus in compliance with reduction of radius. Efficiency of drilling bit operation in hard and solid rock is thus enhanced due to taking into consideration in crushing of this rock of dependence between radius of circular motion of rock-crushing member at rotation of bit and angle of its installation.
