FIELD: sewing industry. SUBSTANCE: thread rupture sensor for sewing or embroidery machine of shuttle stitch type has rotary feeler and device for withdrawal of rotary feeler in the process of cutting threads. One arm of rotary feeler is engageable with sensitive member and other working arm of rotary feeler engaged with threads is provided with profiled slot running about needle. Profiled slot provides contact with shuttle thread and contact with needle thread is effectuated over flat part of working arm. Such construction allows state of shuttle and needle threads to be controlled. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 2 dwg
