FIELD: technical microbiology, ecology. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes the highly active strain of sulfate-reducing bacteria providing biomass increment in sewage treatment from heavy metal ions - Desulfomicrobium apsheronum VKM V-2012 D EGAST-3. Strain is isolated from industrial glycerol-containing sewers. Strain is the stringent anaerobe, pH range is from 6.0 to 9.0, it grows at the temperature range from 0 to 41 C.
