FIELD: explosives. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to labeling gelatin and elastic explosives in order to prevent acts of transport terrorism by way of increasing reliability in revealing explosives at corresponding inspection posts. Invention can be used at enterprises producing gelatin and elastic and other types of authorized explosives and also various-type ammunition. Invention proposes using, as labeling substances, ferrocene and its derivatives such as alkylferrocenes that can be detected in gaseous phase by means of selective sensors based on the molecule nuclei condensation phenomenon with detection threshold up to 7,8•10-15 mol. parts. Proposed substances meet requirements for labeling materials regarding storage stability, compatibility with explosives, lack of toxicity, and market availability at accessible prices. EFFECT: increased labeling reliability. 2 tbl
