FIELD: cosmetics. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cosmetic composition used for irreversible deformation (curling or unbending) of keratin materials, preferably hair, and a method of their treatment by this composition. Composition is used for the first stage of irreversible deformation of keratin materials. It has at least one active agent for reduction of keratin disulfide bonds, one alkalizing agent and at least one cationic polymer. The agent is taken from the group involving ornithine, lysine and arginine. Cationic polymer has primary, secondary or tertiary amino-groups or quaternary ammonium groups in the main chain. Composition is made as lotion, viscous or liquid cream or gel. Reducing composition is applied on keratin material to be treated before, during or after their mechanical tightening on corresponding agents. Then keratin material is rinsed and oxidizing composition is applied before or after its separation from the tightening agent. After applying the reducing composition the latter is kept on keratin material for 5-60 min, preferably 5-30 min. Invention ensures to obtain good indices of irreversible deformation of keratin materials, in part, hair curling or unbending and decrease their damage.
