FIELD: transport engineering; materials handling facilities; brake systems of rolling stock towing cars. SUBSTANCE: towing cars are connected by flexible coupler and are furnished with one-side action emergency brake. Novelty is than flexible coupler is simultaneously a traction member and manual control member of emergency brake. According to first design version, flexible coupler is made closed through turnable members and forms two branches along longitudinal axis of vehicle. One of towing cars has manual drive with actuating mechanism. Turnable blocks, engagement mechanism and brake hook are mounted on both towing cars. At emergency braking actuating mechanism moves flexible coupler branches towards each other. Flexible coupling sets into action emergency brake mechanism through intermediate ties. Brake hook comes into engagement with rail tie. According to second design version, ends of flexible coupler are secured on towing cars for provision of displacement of coupler relative to vehicle. For this purpose manual drive is placed on one of towing cars and actuating mechanism, on other car. Use of flexible coupler as emergency brake manual control member simplifies design of brake system.
