FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: film-forming copolymer is prepared by thermal copolymerization of stillage residues resulting from rectification of styrene in ethyl benzene production and stillage residues resulting from rectification of styrene in combined production of styrene and propylene oxide and maleic anhydride. The resulting copolymer is further treated with diethylene glycol and/or propylene glycol of 0.2-1.5 mole per 1 mole of maleic anhydride.
