FIELD: transport engineering; vehicle internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed fuel intake strainer has additional vertical posts and two metal floats installed with clearance above upper and under lower plates and is provided with inclined generating surfaces limiting, respectively, upper and lower spaces communicating with fuel intake pipe. Lower one is made in form of base of plate pack and is installed on vertical posts for reciprocating along posts. Main volume of upper float is in its peripheral zone, and that of lower float, in central zone. Ratio of volumes of upper and lower floats is 60% and 40%. Fuel intake pipe is made in form of bellows. Inclined surface of plates and floats can be made lemniscate. Central hole of plates can be limited by ring member narrowing the space between plates in zone of communication with fuel intake pipe. Central projection of lower float can be located in central holes of plates of pack lower layers. Peripheral zone of plates can be provided with flange bent downwards and rounded off. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of fuel cleaning by provision of its taking off from fuel surface of tank and optimization of outline of floats and strainer plates. 5 cl, 2 dwg
