FIELD: paper-and-pulp industry. SUBSTANCE: invention consists in measuring current ash content values and values of charge of short fibers in tray water followed by comparing measured values with optimal ones and judging of polymer demand from resulting discrepancies. Appropriate device contains ash- content and fiber-charge transducers placed in register water collector. Ash content provides information on the filler retention and fiber charge is indicative of amount of short fibers in register water. Detected signals enter converters and therefrom computer means to be compared with optimal values. Discrepancies from each signal are summarized and conveyed to actuator controlling flow of polymer additive into stock line. EFFECT: optimized content of auxiliary reagents in pulp resulting in improved quality of paper. 1 dwg
