FIELD: oil and gas production. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in last-phase development of oil deposits in order to increase oil recovery of deposit by means of increased deposit coverage using displacement of oil-saturated seams previously taking no place in development. When developing oil deposit, oil is extracted through producing wells, working agent is injected through injecting wells, and, periodically, aqueous dispersion is injected by edges through at least one injecting well. Water dispersion is composed of water mineralized to at least 15 g/l as dispersing medium and mixture of water-soluble polymer and alkali metal hydroxide powders. Passage from one edge to another is accompanied by 1 to 30% increase in injection pressure. In each subsequent edge, amount of water- soluble polymer powder and/or alkali metal hydroxide powder is decreased, total decrease being between 1 and 0.05% and between 5 to 0.5%, respectively. EFFECT: increased oil recovery of formation. 4 cl
